Windows 10 How do I make it so that Windows doesn't copy a file when I try to move it between C: and D: ?

Whenever I want to move a file that is located on C: to D: and I drag it to that folder, it copies the file to that folder instead of moving it. Is there a way to change this? I don't want to use cut-paste every time I do a transfer.
