The subject(above)pretty much says what I'm trying to find out. I've had laptops in the past where the touchpads could be disabled/enabled by the fn + f9 keys on the keyboard. I've tried that. I've done research, and tried lots of different suggestions. I don't use it. I don't need it. I don't want it. It causes so many problems for me when I type, that I've made a physical barrier, a cover plate that covers the touchpad, so as to prevent any contact. It works, but it's awkward. I should be able to turn the touchpad on, and/or off whenever I want. I bought this HP laptop 15-db0015dx, new, on 05/30/19. Windows 10 has been on it from the beginning. I hope you can give me a way to disable/enable this touchpad, so I can get rid of this cover guard. I thank you for your time, and whatever assistance you might might provide. Respectfully, Gregg E.
