Windows 11 How does windows license work ?

I had purchased a windows 10 laptop a few years back , and I have updated it to windows 11 for free back then , Now that I have bought a new PC and to activate windows for the same …can I use the Microsoft account that was on my laptop ? . Do I have the windows 11 license since my old laptop had windows 11 on it ?
