I recently built a new PC. Originally I did the same thing 10 years ago and bought a retail version of Windows 7.Over the years I had upgraded, mostly free upgrades, all the way to eventually windows 10.Which is what I was on before my new desktop.Everything I could find told me that:1. Retail version can be transferred between pcs2. That upgrades inherit the traits from 13. The version/license I had was in fact a retail version.Yet when I did a fresh install and logged in with my connected microsoft account I had to reactivate windows for which the key I could find did not work.So...
