Hi,

The Microsoft keyboard I have (Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard) comes with pre-programmed function keys (f1= mute.... f11= calculator, f12=screengrab) which work without having to use the Fn key.

I need to disable these as I need the function keys in some of the programmes I use for work.

I've tried disabling them by doing this:

  • Type gpedit in the Search and then click Edit group policy. (This will open Local Group Policy Editor).
  • Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer. In the right-side pane, look for Turn off Windows + X hotkeys and double click on it.
  • Check Disabled and click OK.
  • Restart the computer to make the settings take effect.

which I'd found in another answer. But this didn't work for me.

I'd appreciate help in this as it's really causing me a lot of issues.
