Windows 11 How to share internet access to a device that has only Ethernet-over-USB functionality.

I would like the device (a sensor board with integrated web interface) to receive a DHCP address from my router. Currently Windows gives it a 192.168.137.x address instead when using internet sharing. And then the device is not pingable by other machines on the network. I tried using a network bridge instead of internet sharing, and the minimal DHCP server functions on the device board caused the computer to get an IP address from the device rather than the router.
