Windows 11 I cannot download any non microsoft apps on windows 11

I just purchased a new laptop with windows 11. I am getting an error when downloading the cricut desigm space program. When it downloads it gives the error that reads "the app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app." Every help article states to go to settings then apps then choose where to get app and there should be a dropdown to select everywhere but I don't have that.
