Windows 11 I cannot log into my laptop with a correct password.

I have a Dell Inspiron 16 5620 running Windows 11 Professional. I was locked out of my machine after three unsuccessful attempts to read my finger print. Generally this is not a problem - I use another device to reset my password and log in using my username and correct password. Unfortunately, that did not work. I have reset my password twice and know that it (and my username) are correct because I have used them to log into three other devices (HP Pavilion lap top, Mac mini, and Microsoft surface).
