Windows 11 I cannot turn on Virus and threat Protection in my Windows 11 laptop.

So, I was downloading a game and it made me disable the virus and threat protection of windows defender.I realized pretty quickly that the files I downloaded had malware and I deleted all the downloaded files immediately.But the damage was done, and Windows Defender was rendered useless.After that I realized that a lot of other people have also done the same mistake and ended up like me.
