Windows 10 I can't get Paint 3D to work in a sensible way, how do I?

I am using Paint 3D in Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64-Bit. I am trying to combine multiple images to print them both on one page. When I paste the first image it immediately adjusts the on screen viewed page dimensions. So now i have no idea what size to reshape the image to OR where on the page it w
