Windows 11 I can't seem to go left and right in the photos app.

I can't seem to go left and right in the photos app.For example, I have a folder on my desktop with a bunch of photos in it. When I click on a photo, the photo opens in the photo app. I am able to see the photo, but I am unable to go left and right to view the previous or the next photo.Why is this happening and how can it be fixed?
