Windows 11 I did a Windows 11 update and now have a flashing screen; computer is unresponsive

About a month ago, I let my HP Envy x360 do an update for Windows 11. After I restarted and logged in, the screen starting flashing. It flashes between all white and my usual desktop background. The computer is unresponsive EXCEPT for the following:1. Control-alt-delete brings up the task manager. It does NOT flash. I can kill a process but that's about it. 2. I can bring up a command line, which I used to get to recovery options. They don't work. I tried to undo the update, and the system asked me for a recovery key.
