Windows 10 I did an in-place upgrade from windows 8 to 10, using the Windows 10 media creation tool.... now, not activated

Title says it all. Whats the deal? I did this in-place using the official tool. It did an upgrade, since Windows.old folder exists. The tool should have done the needful correctly.I started off using the official Dell recovery media, created from the Dell service tag. I checked activation, and it directly said 'activated'. Then, ran the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, and let it do its thing. I did not create media, and just let it upgrade the computer.
