The laptop previously was partitioned to boot using grub into ubuntu or windows 7. However, I never managed to upgrade to windows 10, always getting stuck at the windows logo, I presumed because of the partition.
I have now replaced the hard drive with a blank ssd but still cannot boot into windows despite being able to boot ubuntu from a usb.
I've also had the same issue booting from a Win10 install cd.
I have checked the Win10 usb in another computer and was able to boot from it.
I believe the laptop is Win10 compatible; it's a Samsung RC510.
I currently have the following bios options
Boot priority: CD,USB,SSD
Touch Pad: Enabled
Internal LAN: Enabled
PXE OPROM: Disabled
Execute Disable Bit: Disabled
Legacy USB support: Enabled
UEFI Boot support: Enabled
AHCI Mode: Manually: Enabled
USB S3 Wake up: Disabled
I've also tried with different RAM configurations which seemed to make no difference.
