Windows 11 I have a dell inspiron 7620 and want to upgrade to a 1tb

I have a dell inspiron 7620 and want to upgrade to a samsung 970 evo plus 1tb, my question is first of all would it be supported? Would i need any drivers to get it working after copying the files? Second of all, i heard since this laptop is assumed to be using gen 3 nvme drives if i were to use something like a samsung 980 it wouldnt get the full speed, So would it be best to get a samsung 970 evo plus 1tb? Third of all, if i do end up getting a nvme, would it be best to make a recovery of windows, and then on the new nvme install windows and recover from the backup made? Or would it just be
