Hello, I have a HP pavilion dv9700 that came with vista premium on it. It wasn't being used for some time, at some point someone stole the Hard drive out of it. My daughter is needing a laptop so I decided to try and fix it. Having not much experience I jumped in foolishly. I had an older pavilion dv6 with windows 7 home premium and the hard drive fit so i tried tuning it on. It asked about wiping drive and repairing and it seemed to work ok. However now it is running 7 instead of vista, and it says not genuine windows build 7601 with black background. I tried product keys for both versions
