Windows 10 I have a system32\hal.dll error message and now my computer won't boot. Any ideas?

Silly me, I also changed the boot to ultra fast boot in the bios, so now it just skips past the boot menu and goes straight to the above error message.I was in the process of fixing a crash, but I do not know the original cause. Therefore, I changed a bootmgr file in command prompt to bootmgr.old, but couldn't work out how to paste it into the System Reserved partition as I was instructed. So I just left it changed and since then I've had a hal.dll error.:-)
