Windows 11 I messed with my registry over a year ago and I do have a backup file but it is from over a year ago

Hello. I about over a year ago I was searching for ways to make windows faster, and I ran into an optimizer and decided to run it not knowing it was going to mess with my PC in ways that would affect me later down the road. One thing I did do though is make a backup file. Now I'm wondering if it would hurt my computer more to go to that old of registry or just a clean install would do better for me.
