Windows 11 I receive a permissions error for a USB drive on a laptop, but not another desktop connected to our network.

I receive a permissions error for a USB drive on a laptop, but not another desktop connected to our network. When prompted for an admin ID on the laptop, I enter my ID/pw with admin rights, but receive an error that I do not have permissions. I was able to acess the Advanced Sharing tab, and add myself to the permissions, with full access, but still no success.
