Windows 10 I start a full scan in with Windows defender and if i open the task bar or do something else while the pc is scanning the scan suddenly stops

While doing a full scan using windows defender i opened a browser and start watching a YouTube video and the scan suddenly stop having scan 40000 files and telling me i had no virus. I thought i had more file's than that so i scan again and this time scans more than 40000 files. So i decided to open the task bar and when i opened it the scan stopped.
