My computer had a blue screen due to upgrading to a newer mobo (zenith extreme ) and a newer Cpu (Amd 1950X) .
Blue Screen was System_Service_ Except
What failed : AsIO.sys
So I try and get a hold of Microsoft Customer Support via the bot and chose the Live Chat option. I got transferred to a rep named Mehra.
Mehra does some basic turning on/turning off the computer and then recommends me to do the Windows Reset option.
Now on the windows reset screen it said that it would "REMOVE ALL APPS. "
So I asked Mehra about which apps it would remove and he tells me that only Microsoft apps will be removed. I asked him "are you sure that only Microsoft apps will be removed." And he reassures me by saying "yes" and that yes only Microsoft apps would be removed and that all I would have to do is re sign in to my Microsoft account & all the Microsoft apps would reinstall.
Furthermore, I tell him I only want to do the reset if it will only remove Microsoft apps and not ALL apps, and reassures me once more by telling me not to worry & that only Microsoft apps would get removed!
I was reassured multiple times by this rep that only Microsoft apps would get removed.
Being off guard, I TRUSTED the words of this MICROSOFT employee named Mehra. SO I CLICKED RESET!
Mehra disconnects from me citing the reset would be a lengthy 10 to 15 min and gave me a link to contact him back at.
After the reset was done, my pc was rid of the Blue Screen error but to my SHOCK & SURPRISE & ANGER, ALLLLL MY APPS WERE GONE!!!!! ALLL OF THEM!!!! NOT JUST MICROSOFT ONES > BUT ALL MY APPS WERE DELETED!!!
Infuritated at the fact that ALL my APPS were gone and that ALL my apps' configurations are gone, I tried to contact back Mehra on the provided link but the link did not work so I contacted another Live Chat agent.
This guy Sankar tells me there is no way to go back to a earlier state prior to the REPAIR (no restore point so essetially the repair process which deleted all my files were PERMANENT) and the only thing to be done now is reinstall everything!
Imagine having all your apps & their configurations deleted and starting from scratch all over again!!! This is exactly what I wanted to avoid, the freaking rep Mehra Lied to me and is causing me so much pain and financial losses!
I no longer have the serial numbers to some of the programs I purchased and Microsoft is now telling me I have to repay for everything that I need to reinstall that I can't get the serial number for. All Microsoft will do is have their level 2 team connect to me via remote desktop connection and offer to reinstall the apps themselves while I sit back and watch.
Not only do I have to reinstall the apps but I have to reconfigure everything again. Even my web browser (Chrome) was missing and so are all the bookmarks and extensions and etc... I have other OSes in VmWare Workstation and can't get passed the screen now because it's now asking for my serial all over again. I had fiancial programs which have been uninstalled. Hundreds of Gigabytes of Programs were deleted, several games in the tens of gigabytes each (Middle Earth - 100 GB + GTA V ). But the games aren't as important as my financial programs which were uninstalled.

Honestly Microsoft, I HATE YOU NOW. I HATE YOU & your TRUSTWORTHY IMAGE & your POOR Training of Employees, your policies. You have caused me a huge emotional & financial burden. & HATE is a VERY STRONG word & YES I HATE YOU!
I am a day trader and work directly from my Pc, not having this pc in fully working mode for what I assume to be about a week more of reinstalling is a financial loss in the tens of thousands of dollars.
I WILL NEVER EVER TRUST MICROSOFT OR ITS EMPLOYEES EVER AGAIN!!!! HATE YOU!!!
