Windows 10 Installing Minecraft on a previous version caused me to lose my world

I followed a tutorial on reinstalling Minecraft on previous versions, and after doing so, I couldn't see my world. So getting scared I tried to revert it as best as I could to find out my world was still not there. Is there anything I can do to get it back??
