Hi guys,
My computer has a bit of history with crashes - originally got it in October 2011 and it was crashing at random for years. However, I eventually discovered the supplier had set it up to overclock the processor and once I turned this off, the crashes stopped. This was after I had upgraded the PSU to a Corsair RM850 because I thought the previous PSU was faulty.
Since then, I've upgraded the graphics card to a Sapphire R9 390, which also resulted in me needing to change the case. The computer worked with no issues for a while, but after I got back into World of Warcraft, I suddenly got a BSoD which was completely different to all of the errors I had got before. Since then it's been crashing randomly during that game and sometimes during Heroes of the Storm (hasn't crashed with anything else yet, but I don't play other games nearly as much). Sometimes it wont crash for a week, sometimes it's every day or more than once per day. Usually it doesn't give me a blue screen and just locks up, though I have had three different errors recorded now.
The three errors I've had are Reference_By_Pointer (0x18), Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal (0xd1) and Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area (0x50). The former and latter both were caused by atikmdag.sys according to Bluescreenview, and I've tried manually replacing this driver to no effect. Oxd1 referenced dxgmms1.sys.
Event viewer has said that these issues were caused by kernel-power, but I seriously doubt the PSU is the problem because it's less than a year old and replacing it had no effect on the crashes before. I've checked and my new graphics card drivers should be up to date. I thought the problem might have been caused by Kaspersky Antivirus, which is beyond terrible and I've got rid of, but it's continued happening since I started using Avast instead.
My other specs are:
OS: Windows 7 64bit
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (quad core)
Memory: 8192MB Kingston Hyper X DDR3 Speed 1600 MHz
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V
Hard Drives: 120GB solid state boot drive and a 500GB secondary hard drive
Pretty much at the end of my tether with this damn computer and would bin it and buy another if I wasn't currently buying a house. Any help fixing this stupid thing would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
