Windows 11 Is there any way to improve file transfer speeds between my hard drive and a USB stick?

The transfer speeds are ridiculously low. As soon as transfer begins, the progress chart pops up showing the transfer is 50% complete (it's not, of course) and then the speeds vary between a few hundred KBS and Zero; transferring several GBs can take HOURS.The internet conventional wisdom seems to be to do a "Clean Reboot," which I did. Nothing changes.Is there a proven way to make these transfers computer-like?
