Hi,
So, I am new this here and I am not entirely sure if this is the correct place to put this.
I encountered this issue about 4 months ago and just haven't bothered to try seeking further help after trying to resolve the issue myself and then searching through 100's of different articles/forums of people having the same issue but still no look.
My issue that I am encountering is that when I plug my laptop into a HDMI cable from my TV the display works perfectly fine but the audio decides to come out of my laptop still. I have tried every common fix for this so I have checked to see if it is in the sound control panel but it is not. I never used to have this issue a few months ago and it worked fine. the same HDMI cable which works with passing audio through with many other devices such as my PS4 or my cable box for TV, so I know it's not the HDMI cable and just to be sure I tried two others.
Normally people post their specs of the device their having the issue with as this can give someone a better idea of what's happening or something so I will put the laptop spec here:
Medion Erazer X6603 MD 60536 Laptop
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz, 2801 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Graphics Card: NVidia GTX 1050 TI
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio
If there is any other spec that I haven't listed above that can help please let me know.
If anyone could help with this issue I am having that would be amazing and thank you for anyone who can help in anyway.
The most common fixes that I have tried is anything from:
- Checking my HDMI cable was the issue.
- Turning off Hyper-V
- Updating drivers Graphics and Audio
- Updated Windows 10 to latest
- Uninstalling the audio/graphics drivers and reinstalling them.
- Restarting with HDMI cable plugged in.
- Audio Control Panel to set as default but wasn't present.
any many others but their are the main things that I have tried.
