Windows 10 Issues signing into Microsoft account.

Hi - I am having issues setting up my new microsoft account on my brand new desktop. I have an activation code which is accepted but then I have a message saying that a security code has been sent to my email but how can I view my email when a) my old computer has been binned b) I cannot view my email.
