Hey, so I thought I was being careful with what I downloaded but apparently not. I have made a mistake that is irritating the heck out of me.

Every time I go to google and search something I am immediately redirected to Bing.

(I thought I hated Bing before, but I'm fifty shades of "no thank you" right now.)

I don't actually know the source of my virus, where I picked it up from, but I don't see any suspicious programs to uninstall. I looked around for solutions but I'm in hyper alert mode for things that could damage my laptop. I was told on several sites to use Chrome's scanner, but it won't work. Someone told me to run Google Chrome as an administrator and that it worked for them, tried that out- Did actually work but found absolutely nothing. I then looked around and stumbled upon a free trial on Malwarebytes, but it wouldn't even open. I don't remember exactly what it said, something about needing a newer version I think -but it's up to date.

I'm running out of plans here. Should I just ditch Google Chrome? I'm using Microsoft Edge currently and it doesn't have the issue. I do want this fixed but what choices do I have? Words of wisdom? Please and thank you.
