JPEG XL is so awesome, almost all of the programs I use support it now, but Windows 10/11 should have it built-in to help the push for such a great new format to get more normalised. Firefox already has it, Nomacs has it in a dev version and so does GIMP (it will be in the next stable version), and Google has been pushing to make it built into future versions of Android. I don't see a reason why Microsoft has stopped trying, it's already in Microsoft Edge (and Chromium as a whole), why not the rest of the OS and built-in apps?
