Hi

I have just upgraded my win 7 to Win 10 and am now tweaking it to the way I like it

I like to disconnect the internet whilst I'm using my external hard drives and in Win 7 I created a shortcut of "Local area connection" from Network Connections to my desk top where I could disable the internet and enable it by clicking the icon. Unfortunately this is not happening in Windows 10. I can create the desktop icon and right click it and click disable but when I click the desktop icon to enable the internet nothing happens. I was getting a panel internet status "disable , properties and other stuff" but I don't even get that now and that didn't allow you to connect anyway.

At the moment I have the "network connections" page permanently open but minimized so I can re-enable the internet from there which works but this is a two step operation whereas before it was a simple click. Is there away of recreating the win7 situation in win10

thanks

Michael
