Windows 11 Mail changed and deleted from account, but scammer still uses it to try and access my account

I've changed my mail a long time ago. Some few weeks ago I logged into that account and noticed multiple Chinese mails from Microsoft, and noticed that they are "forgot password" mails with a code inside. I've made sure to delete the old mail from account settings (personal info), yet, I still receive mails on the older account. I've done some research and those are most likely bots, however, I would like to fully change my mail to my new one.
