Similar posts have been asked over and over, I'm aware, but the solutions posted to those questions have not worked for me.

My Problem:

I am trying to record my own voice. The software I am using also records windows sound.

Those sounds, for example video game audio or VOIP (Teamspeak), are recorded flawlessly.

Only my own voice is either way too loud or way too quiet.

In the first few recordings I was constantly overwhelming all other sounds.

Currently, whenever I talk while recording, my voice keeps automatically adjusting.

When I remain silent, my voice input hits zero, even though it should at least be recording background noise.

As soon as I start talking again, even if it's just a murmur, my voice sounds REALLY high, as if I was talking with a slightly raised voice.

Shortly thereafter, my input seems to adjust more towards the actual volume of my voice.

Once I stop talking again, input turns back off completely.

I have tried the following:

-Updating drivers for my headset

-Turning off all other sound devices

-Disabling AGC

-Adjusting the "level" of the mic in the tab of the same name

-Enabling/Disabling control of applications over the device

-Selecting "Do Nothing" in the communications tab

-Disabling Auto-adjust in all software affecting the microphone (Teamspeak, Skype, Peripheral app)

-Using another recording software (I have tried Nvidia Shadowplay, Fraps and Audacity)
