Windows 10 Microsoft flight simulator not installing from the microsoft store

When I first got microsoft flight simulator, I installed it to an external drive and it worker perfectly fine, but just two days ago I tried to reinstall it to the same drive so that I could play it again. My first attempt allowed me to install the game, but I chose to reinstall it due to the in-game download getting stuck. Since that attempt, I would be faced with the same series of issues, I would enter the microsoft store, navigate to the flight simulator page, click on install, choose my selected drive, and then be met with the install button remaining the same with 0 downloads in my queue
