Windows 11 Microsoft Font Maker does not work with Wacom tablet

I have a Wacom Intuos BT S CTL-4100WL tablet on my Windows 11 22H2 PC and thought it would work with Microsoft Font Maker. It does not. I can place the pen-pointer in the letter boxes, but it doesn't allow me to "write" in them. The pointer moves around the screen, so the tablet is on and working, but Font Maker doesn't accept input from it.If the problem is that Font Maker refuses to work with Wacom tablets, I can accept that, but I have no idea if that's the case. It's not stated clearly anywhere.
