Windows 11 Microsoft has completely locked me out of my own laptop, support doesn't exist and the robot on the phone hangs up on me

As stated above, they simply locked me out of an old laptop I have. You're required to "log in" to whatever Microsoft account is attached to the laptop or YOU CANNOT access your own data. This is absolutely appalling. My own property is being held hostage, if I have the system password, I should be able to access my own property. I do not remember what the password to this old irrelevant email account I have is, it's a Hotmail account for christ's sake. WHO USES HOTMAIL?
