Windows 11 Microsoft Photos app - Copy/pasting PNGs removes transparency

On Windows 11 , copying and pasting a PNG with a transparent background from the Photos app replaces the transparency with black. This occurred when pasting into Word, Powerpoint and Slack so I believe it's an issue with the Photos app. Inserting the same image directly into a Word document does not have the same issue (i.e. the transparency is preserved).This occurs for several of my colleagues using Windows 11, but does not occur for me on Windows 10. Is this a known bug or a settings issue?
