Windows 11 Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse cannot scroll anymore!

I bought Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse over a year and a half. A week ago, the scroll function of my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse decided end its service. All other functions (left-right click, Windows button) are working properly. I changed the batteries, uninstall mouse in device manager, update the driver as recommended in some forum but the scroll function is still not working. I also tried the mouse in another laptop and the scroll function did not work either. It looks like a hardware problem.Does anyone know the root cause?
