Windows 10 Multiple verification emails sent but I can't log in to my account?

I have been receiving multiple verification emails (2FA) for a Microsoft account but I am certainly not the one trying to log in. I found a thread about this occurring and went to change my password. When I went to log in it couldn't find my account. So it appears they're trying to access using my work - paid for account as when I selected to sign in to Microsoft it just did with the same email as the one it said it couldn't find... Not confusing at all. I can't change this password. How much risk is there that I will be hacked? Thank you.
