Windows 10 My bluetooth earbuds, speaker, or headphones I plug into laptop do not play sound when I am transcribing.

I do not understand why I cannot get my speaker or earbuds to work when transcribing for a company. Even the headphones that I plugin won't work. The person in charge of my caseload says his work fine, so it is not the application. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop with an i7 that isn't even a year old. A while back, it seemed my volume did not work as well as it should all of a sudden, so anytime I am listening or watching something on it, I have to use my Bluetooth speaker. But now, while transcribing for this company, I cannot get anything to work for the volume except for the laptop it
