Windows 7 My computer needs software upgrade but l cannot type letter N

My computer needs to do software upgrade with my Original windows product key which has got 25 letters and when l do type letter N it does not accept it but other letters it takes them. My Windows key has got letter N which is not wanted. What should l do so that l would be able to update my Computer. Its a Desktop and lam Currently using Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1
