Windows 11 My computer won't let me reset my PIN.

My laptop has a fingerprint scanner that I usually use to unlock it. It doesn't always work, and after 2 failed attempts, it now requires my PIN number to access it. I don't remember my PIN number, and attempted to reset by pressing "I forgot my PIN", but this option only sends me back to the start screen. It doesn't prompt me to reset my PIN or anything. It just sends me back where I started and asks me to type in my PIN. I have tried restarting my computer several times to no avail.
