I have a desktop computer with Windows 10, Home Edition, connected to a 2G/5G router. I've never had issues with the internet before. My ethernet connection suddenly stopped yesterday around 4 PM, so I checked the Settings and found that it read "unidentified network, no connection" on the ethernet page, instead of my network's name like normal. The odd thing is, I discovered that Wifi still works, even the 5G channel, so the router itself isn't down for some reason (although even 5G is quite slow at the moment, as I'd imagine wireless internet is being used a ton right now). I've tried plugging the ethernet cable back into the router, then back into the computer, even restarting the computer itself, but nothing has worked. It's like the cable simply isn't recognized as being plugged in, despite it working fine just yesterday morning.
Not sure what's going on here, as this has never happened before. Assistance would be appreciated.
