Windows 11 My laptop got connected to a hdmi cable and after that it overheats and battery life got cut significantly what can i do?

I have an acer nitro 5 AN515-54, with a intel i5 9300h and nvidia rtx 2060 graphics card. It was connected to an exterior monitor through hdmi cabl and after that happened both the cpu and gpu are 10-15 degrees warmer than usual while idle and battery life has ben cut short from 3:30 hours to about an hour of use. I know i can fix it by resetting the laptop to its original fabric settings but id really like to avoid that hassle if possible.
