Windows 10 My laptop was freezing up until i removed all files from my downloads folder

My laptop a lenovo l340 15irh gaming was freezing up until i removed all files from my downloads folder (it was a lot), now its perfectly normal it seems. is there a deeper issue or is my pc really fine now? i also noticed the wifi would stop working and it would only be the pc and nothing else.
