Windows 10 my new Brother Printer MFC-L2710DW series will not hold the one-sided printing option it keeps flipping back to 2-sided printing?

I cannot seem to get a simple change to stay changed when I change it. I want it to always print single-sided and not double-sided at all unless I change it under certain optional documents? Why will it not stay changed and how can I get it to change and hold the change? - thanks.
