Windows 10 My windows laptop did a factory reset and now all my files and apps are gone. I’ve tried several ways to get them back, but they haven’t worked

I just got back from work to find my Acer laptop completely reset on its own. I didn’t approve of any factory reset, and it seems like it happened while it was turned off somehow. Currently my laptop doesn’t have many apps aside from Microsoft edge, which is the default browser. I’ve tried looking up online on what to do to at least get my old documents back, and found several posts both from the Microsoft q&a community and other websites on how to fix this issue. I’ve tried restarting my laptop 4 times, locating the windows.old file, and tried checking if there’s any new Windows updates
