Windows 11 Need help installing Windows 11 onto a Gen4 NVME. Currently getting an error when selecting the drive.

My system: Ryzen 9 3900X cpu on an Asus X570 ROG Crossfire Dark Hero VIII with 64gb (4x16) of Trident Z Neo RAM. The new NVME drive is a MSI M482 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB SSD Eco-Pack.I am trying to install Windows 11 onto a new Gen4 NVME m.2 drive (into a Gen4 slot). I removed all other drives and just had in the USB stick (media installation media) and the new drive. I start the install process but when I have to select the drive I get this error: "There is an error selecting this partition for install. Please select a different partition or refresh selections". That's it, no other info is
