Windows 10 network drive is being forgotten by client(a laptop) after every shutdown/network restart (windows 10 home)

I have a desktop that acts as the host server where I have a network drive originating from it to access files with my laptop around the housewhen the laptop restarts or loses network even after the laptop connects automatically to the correct WIFI network, it cant access the network drive that I've set up, it shows a red cross on the icon instead of the usual green bar. last time it happened I tried working it out with some advice online which didn't work, In the end I had to remap the network drive from the beginning for it to work, and since then I restarted the laptop and again got back to
