In windows 10 Home 64bit, I keep getting the message "USB Drive Not Recognized" then "USB Device not installed" back and forth- every 30 seconds or so, sometimes quicker..
i dont have anything plugged in except a usb keyboard and mouse.
I have rebooted several times. using both the "Restart" option and the "shut down" option
I have removed the power completely from the system for 10 minutes before restarting.
I have used the "Device Manager" in "Computer Management" which shows the problem as "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)"
When opening the properties of this list entry it shows the location as Port_#0002.hub_#0003 and the device status as "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). A USB port reset request failed."
From the "driver" tab in properties:
I have tried updating the driver.
I have tried disabling it.
I have tried uninstalling it.
I have tried to restore windows to an earlier point (before this message started to appear).
i tried uninstalling all USB devices in device manager, at this point i loose my kybd and mouse.
i unplugged both my kybd and mouse and reboot, when the pc comes back up, with ZERO USB devices plugged in, i get this message again.
i have updated my bios to the latest version.
i have tried playing around with the usb settings in bios.
NOTHING!!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Jim
