I'm experiencing a very peculiar issue when printing photos. Whenever I take photos on my digital camera and then print them from my Windows 10 PC they print in a noticeable gradient. It seems like I get full color on the top of the photo and it gets faded the further down the document it goes. It's not a smooth gradient, rather its blocky and a visible difference between the sections.
Here's the weird part, it only occurs under these specific circumstances:
- Only with photos taken with this digital camera, screenshots or downloaded photos print fine.
- Only on this computer and printer, I can print to a different printer or from a different computer and it's fine.
- Only when using the Microsoft Photos app. I can print from Paint and it prints just fine.
The printer in question is an HP Color Laserjet CP2025. I know it's an older model, but that's what I have for the time being. According to HP's website (Link) My options for drivers are the Universal PCL 6 or the Universal PCL 6 (v5.1). I have tried both with no success.
Theoretically I can still do what I need to do, but it's really annoying to have to use a different program just for these photos.
Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
