Windows 11 Please help me fix the damage to my laptop from the Windows 11 version 22H2 Update KB5026372 on 5/10/23 trashed my laptop!

Hi- Windows 11, version 22H2 was installed on 3/30/23. My HP was a bit glitchy. I had a few more updates and things improved somewhat , however On 5/10/23 I had a cumulative update for Windows 11 version 22H2 KB5026372. My entire HP seemed to be wiped clean or factory reset! Most of my icons were missing from my start up screen, documents - 0, photos - 0, videos - 0, files -0. I spent 2 hours talking to Microsoft and they stated that I had approved the update and now all of my files, pictures, etc were unrecoverable!! I completely freaked out.
